Thanks again for stopping by.  This page is a little wordy and my design guide says most visitors will not stop to read all of this.  So please accept my HEART FELT THANKS for giving me your time.

If you have not worked behind the scenes of a non-profit corporation please take a little time to read this.  I think it will give you an understanding of the financial struggle live performance organizations face.

One of the three very large, very professional, very talented live performance organizations here in Southeastern Virginia, USA (aka Hampton Roads) has had a bad year with its investments and fund raising. (I’ll not mention their name out of respect to them.)  They did not add performances to their schedule to overcome this lower level of funding.  No, they dropped performances.

Unlike the movie and recording industries the costs per performance stay about the same for each performance.  The cost of admission would be over the top without external funding (donations) and make attendance to these cultural events available to only the richest of people. This is true of museums, orchestras, theatre companies or opera companies to list a few.  Not the goal of any cultural organization I know.

Yes, I know times are hard right now but think about the stories of how contributions of $1.00 from many people have put a young man through school, paid for medical care even paid for the repairs of the Statue of Liberty.

Sure it would be very nice to receive a $100,000 donations, but it would also achieve the same goal receiving $5.00 from 20,000 people.  We would just have to write a LOT more thank you cards.

Thanks again for your time. Now, could you make a donation through Pay Pal?

Fund Raising

Project List

These are our fund raising events and a way to introduce ourselves to the communities where we will be performing.

We currently have two on our schedule.  The first in Gloucester, Virginia and the second in Virginia Beach, Virginia.            (Follow those links for details and reservations.)

A Sampling of Wine and Verse

Our first full length production!! With the support of the Cook Foundation of Gloucester, Virginia we will be producing a “traditional” rendition of this comedy by the Bard.  I am sorry to inform those Shakespeare Purists we were not brave enough to use the First Folio version of this script. Instead we chose a script offered by MIT.   If all goes as planned we will also be performing in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

“Much Ado About Nothing”

Matt Burchfield is working with us to bring the Orson Wells script to life.  We hope to perform this in the late fall of 2010.
